The foundation of the work

Individual Psychotherapy

A warm and welcoming space to explore what you feel, release what has been stuck, and get clear on what comes next.

The consulting room at 26 Court Street — a sofa, a soft lamp and a plant by the window

Individual therapy is where most people begin. You bring what is weighing on you — a loss you cannot put down, a relationship that ended badly, a body that will not stop bracing — and we look at it together, at a pace you set.

The work here is relational and interactive rather than silent and observational. That means you will be met with questions, reflections and, when it is useful, concrete skills. Sessions draw on visualization, somatic interventions, music-based approaches and mindfulness alongside conventional talk therapy, so the work reaches the parts of you that words alone do not.

Nothing is assigned to you from a manual. What we use depends on what is actually happening in your nervous system, your history and your week.

What a session involves

A 45-minute session usually begins with where you are today, moves into the work you and I have agreed to focus on, and ends with enough time to settle before you step back into your day. Nothing gets opened that we do not have time to close.

There is no wrong way to start.
