Nicole has been facilitating groups for families, children, and parents and working with individuals and couples in various professional helping capacities for over 20 years. She holds a Master's Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, as well as a Master's Degree in Education and is licensed to practice Mental Health Counseling in New York State. As a clinical psychotherapist, Nicole integrates a combination of Analytic Psychotherapy, Mindfulness, and Cognitive-Behavior Therapy (CBT) interventions. She is also trained in advanced trauma recovery specialties which include Brainspotting and Somatic Experiencing. She has been a professionally Licensed and Certified Teacher since 2007, having provided Special Education services to students with emotional, physical, psychological, and/or intellectual disabilities through The New York City Department of Education and is an approved and contracted SETSS (Special Education Teacher Support Services) related services provider for the NYCDOE. She has worked as a Domestic Violence Clinician for one of the nation's largest nonprofit organizations serving families in traumatic crisis.
Nicole has practiced clinical psychotherapy with adults, adolescents, families and children at a Brooklyn outpatient psychiatric treatment center licensed by the Office of Mental Health (OMH). She currently operates a private psychotherapy practice, supporting clients in resolving issues related to depression, anxiety, substance abuse, life stressors, grief, loss, trauma and other mental health concerns. Apart from facilitating Professional Development Workshops for teachers and school staff as a vendor for the Department of Education, she has also conducted Self-Care Sessions and Mental Health Workshops with children, families, couples, individuals and groups at MINKA, a holistic wellness center in Brooklyn. She has formal clinical training in Analytic Psychotherapy, Brainspotting (both Phase One and Phase 2) from Pacific Counseling &Trauma Center, Somatic Experiencing from Peter Levine's Ergos Institute of Somatic Experiencing, Child-Centered Play Therapy, Sand Tray, and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). In addition, Nicole is a proud mother of a daughter and a son.
